The CCCB is now accepting applications for the eleventh edition of the European Prize for Urban Public Space, a prime observatory of European cities that recognizes the best works to create, recover, transform and improve public spaces in Europe. The open registration period will run from 20 April to 17 May. The Prize is the only one of its kind in the continent and has been renewed to promote debate about the future of European cities in the post-pandemic context.
In a context like today’s, where climate emergency and the crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic show that cities around the world are facing new climatic, technological and social challenges, the value of public space is greater than ever.
The European Prize for Urban Public Space is a biennial contest, that since 2000 acknowledges the best
interventions to create, transform and recover public spaces in European cities. In this eleventh edition, the Prize will recognise works carried out between 2018 and 2021.
