The Danish seminar on landscape architecture in Antwerp is part of the bi-annual Architecture Festival of the Flemish Architecture Institute. The festival focuses on landscape architecture and the connection between open land and built environment. Traditionally, Danish landscape architects have a strong expertise and aesthetic approach when it comes to the integration between the open lands and the city.

Two lectures are presented on the same day. The first will be by Annemarie Lund (author of several books on Danish and Nordic landscape architecture) on one of the great masters of Danish landscape architecture C. Th. Soerensen and how his work has influenced contemporary Danish landscape architects.

The second lecture will be by acclaimed Danish landscape architect Jeppe Aagaard Andersen, who will present his recent projects amongst others Kronborg Castle in Elsinore, Denmark. He will also elaborate on and give his input to some of the challenges that Flanders is facing these years, when it comes to regenerating old industrialized areas, increased urbanization and the complexity of densely populated regions.

The event will include a networking event for local and Scandinavian professionals engaged in the field.
