Renovatie Troubleyntheater

Jan Fabre had the former burnt-out Ring theatre and several classrooms converted into a laboratory for his Troubleyn company: ‘a workplace for dreamers’. The strength of Dekeyser’s interventions lies not so much in absolute refinement or the obsessive control of details, but in a consistent exploration and development of the potential of the existing buildings and the spirit of the place. The surgical removal of parts of the building creates space and emptiness. Consequential changes using comprehensible volumes and material are then made.
