Schoonselhof is a protected park domain that includes the urban cemetery of Antwerp. This project involved incorporating new spaces and paths in the protected and landscaped (channelled) environment. The new ashes scattering area will be part of this protected landscape. The avenues of trees, ditches and raised beds bordered by hedges determine the intrinsic qualities of the domain. In the eastern section, the architects will incorporate the new ashes scattering area into the existing goose foot shaped structure (with central axis). This area is slightly sloping from low at the southern end to high at the northern end. In a row of spaces and voids, the new ashes scattering area is created with 4 scatter meadows, columbaria for 3000 above-ground urns and urn fields for 3000 subterranean urns.
