St Ursula primary school

The design of the St Ursula primary school places a sculptural volume on the corner of two streets. The building cannot immediately or unambiguously be seen to be a school. It could also be a large house. The new school building has three floors. Its shape was formed by allowing the morphology of the surrounding buildings to have their effect on the volume.
The client wanted several rooms to remain usable after the school closed. The adaptability requested did not lead to pointless flexibility. The building is conceived so that it can fulfil this double purpose in its shape, spatial articulation and functionality.
