Townhall and tourist office, Diksmuide

TRANSFORMATION OF THE ECLECTIC TOWN HALL reverses the organisation of the building. The meticulously restored front façade no longer serves as a portal. Life now unfolds at the back of the building, where a hook-shaped concrete incline and a little square form the entrance. It is also through the new square that the basement is accessible, which houses an art archive as well as reading rooms. The historicising interiors were given a sober aura thanks to the clear levelling and the simple but precise restoration work.
