DIERENDONCKBLANCKE ARCHITECTEN - ANTWERPEN

Dambruggestraat

Dierendonckblancke architecten designed this bright apartment building on a very acute and deep plot in Antwerp. The building was conceived as a stacking of four apartments connected by an outdoor staircase. While the building marks the corner of the street with a sturdy volume, the staircase remains open, allowing
for lively interaction between residents and the public sphere. By means of a split-level configuration in which the living quarters are distinguished from the night
quarters, a covered outdoor bike parking was created on the ground floor. The staircase and kitchen windows give out onto a small courtyard, letting daylight into every corner of the interior.
