Stadswijk 't Groen Kwartier

A 19th century military hospital will be transformed into a 7ha oasis of green living in the middle of the city. Army barracks are reconverted into chic lofts, apartments and social housing.

Despite the high residential concentration of the Green Quarter, it remains an open space and a fully public domain. Not only the future inhabitants, but the entire surrounding neighborhood receives a green area. Conversion and recuperation of demolition material for the foundation of the roads lowers the transportation. The pavement on the site is greatly reduced so that the groundwater infiltrates to it's maximum.
